October is here..

..which means half the semester is already over. Including this terrible English class I'm sitting in. It's so pointless. We read useless poems and if you dint write about them exactly in her point of view, then you're getting a failing grade. Which I did. I'm really just hoping for a passing grade in this class. I'd hate to have to take this again. A multicultural English c,ass taught by a lady whose specialty is southern white women. Seriously?! Ughhhh..

Tomorrow is my second calculus test. I did so much better on my last one than I expected, but it was so close to an A that it also made me kinda mad. I am not very sure about to stuff we need to know for tomorrow but with a little more studying I think I'll be able to do it. Somehow the pressure of taking it helps me think and remember different problems we've done in class. So I'm hoping for that again this time and that I can pull my grade up to an A. I got a 100 on my last quiz! :)

My next chem test is on Thursday. I am terrified of this one. I am not sure about anything that will be covered in this one.. Hopefully the next few days will clear things up. I really don't want to ruin my grade. If I keep it up like it is now I will have an A. Not a low A that would give me an A-, no, a solid A. Which would Give me UG GPA a great foundation. Besides, you know, that English class.. Ughh......

We got to play with foals last Thursday in my animal science class. The foal my group had, only had one eye, but it couldn't be any more social. We expected it to be a little shy, but now, it was all over us. Especially when I kneeled down in its stall in the end to take pictures. Which didn't really happen because having her nose right in front of the camera, touching it, doesn't make for good pictures. Hahaha.

Saturday was amazing! I've been thinking about starting cross country for a while, but after that horse club trip, hahaha, I am certain! We got to meet Lucinda Green! One of the best cross country riders in Britain! She's been in the Olympics I think three times, won the Badminton Horse Trials six times, the Tony Collins Trophy seven times and and and... She's amazing and we got to watch one of her clinics for 8 hours! It started out with green horses who have barely ever jumped and went to intermediate horses and grand Leix jumpers. It was pretty awesome! She's an amazing trainer!

This week is gonna be pretty stressful, but hopefully I can see my wonderful bf tomorrow! I finally got a parking pass, so we don't have to struggle about finding a parking spot anymore, but can park right next to my dorm. Bliss. Hahaha. But after Thursday, I will relax a bit. I have a lot of studying to do cause I was really lazy this weekend, but it'll be relaxed studying. Lol.

I also want to write letters to my family in Germany next weekend. And I got a great idea for a present for my bf for either christmas or when he wants to go back to Mexico. I want to get started with that soon also.

Hehehe.. Hey..

Sorry, I've been so quiet lately. I just was so very busy with school and work, that in my free time, I didn't feel like spending even more time on the computer than I absolutely had to for my classes... But I have so much to tell!

I wanna start with my animal practicum class.. So many things I got to do! Last time I told you I would work with pigs next, and I did. We learned about reading their ear notches, got to put in ear tags and how to move them in the best way possible. And we got to cuddle with the new piglets! Oh my! So adorable! The next week, we went to the dairy farm for the first time. I love them. I enjoy them much more than beef cattle. Those are unpredictable as compared to dairy cattle, who are so used to people being around them all the time. They are much calmer during their handling. They sent us in pairs into the pen with a ton of dairy cows, but it was no problem at all. We found our assigned cow and herded her into a nearby pen, where we had to feather and palpate her. I love them, but sticking my whole arm into a cows butt is definitely not one of my favorite past times.. I came back to the farm pretty soon after for an independent milking lab. I helped milking about seventy cows and that was pretty cool. I actually got some milk with my hands. Hhaha I've always heard that it was pretty hard.

Horses were on the schedule for the next two weeks. I loved it. Although the first lab seemed pretty pointless to me. I know there are people in my class that have never touched a horse ( SAD I know!), but all I did there that was new to me is use a measuring tape to figure out a horses weight and listen to the heart and intestines. Pretty cool, but still. It would have been day without class if not for that. One thinpretty barn manager is pretty good at though: making horses sound like the most unpredictable and dangerous animals, and putting on a halter like rocket science. Lol.. The next week was pretty cool though. We learned how to vaccinate horses and promptly did it on the UGA Equestrian team horses. Awesome!

This week we worked with the beef cattle again. But this time with the young ones. They were so cute. We freeze branded them and put in ear tattoos. The one I did the tattoo for had a mark on its head that looked like a cow. Hahaha pictures later. It was an interesting lab. I may end up showing that cake at out livestock show in three weeks. It's hard with my work schedule, but I'm trying really hard to work something out for the practices. I've never done a livestock show and I really wanna try. Next week we have weanling handling with horses! :D

The Guide Dog Foundation has finally called and e-mailed me and I have a puppy workshop in three weeks. If everything goes right, I will be getting a puppy next summer to take care of for a year. :)

Work is really stressing me out, but it's nice to make some extra money. It helps a lot. I just don't appreciate being stuck in the dish room all the time when other people never have to do it. It's supposed to be a rotating schedule. Pshh, whatever!

Classes have been going pretty great! My grades are much better yet than expected. Two As on calc quizzes and an 89 on the test. I studied really hard for it and just wanted to pass, so that was a pleasant surprise. My chem quizzes are so so with some 100s in between, but I get perfect scores on all my homeworks, so that makes up for it. I also got a 96 on the test! Bam! Pretty good average in that class so far. My animal classes are good and great hahaha with the hater class having the higher grade.. Lol English sucks though. I hate that class. So much. If you don't write exactly about her opinion, then you're out. Which it seems like I am. Ughh. I have to write a completely new paper because apparently my last one sucked..

It's going wonderful with Juan. We had some ups and downs, but it's really getting much better. He's hopefully getting his car (fixed this time! Gasp!) back today which means I will get to spend the weekend with him at a horse show in Conyers! :) He's making better money now and selling more and more grooming and tack boxes. So next time the car breaks or something like that happens, it hopefully won't be as stressful as this time. And I get to see him more than just once every few weeks. That's been really hard. I'm so stresses out and just a few minutes to cuddle every week will make it so much easier to handle :)

I've been riding. It's so hard to get back into it. Especially on that huge draft horse I am riding. Lol he can be a bit stubborn and it's hard to get him to do something if he doesn't want to because he is so much stronger than I am. But it feels awesome to sit on a horse again. :)

Ps: he's thinking about getting an engagement ring.. ;)

oh.. HI !

I'm so sorry I've been ignoring this blog so much lately. There were so many things to be done in the last few weeks and whenever I was in my room, I was doing homework. If I was done with homework, I was in bed. That's it. Classes - work - bed. I'm always tired/exhausted. Yesterday I was so worn out that I had to leave work two hours early because I felt like I was going to pass out. But no work today and Friday. Only tomorrow and Thursday left for this week. And then I get to go home and hopefully see my boo on Sunday night when he comes back from the horse show. I'm excited. :)

I changed my work schedule, so I am now working 5 to closing at 9 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 4 to closing on Thursdays. It's a lot of working, but I'm excited for my check at the end of this week. :)

I'm almost halfway done with my third week of classes. I love the college part of my life now. There re annoying classes like English and Calculus, which I just never understand, but the rest of my classes are good. So far, I actually enjoy Chem and I understand it still. I had my first lab today and it was ok, but I just don't enjoy labs very much. Science labs that is. I love my animal practicum lab. It's awesome! First we have a lecture about whatever animal we will be working with and then we have a 4 hour lab on Thursdays where we actually get a lot of hands-on experience. It is awesome. I love it. My favorite class by far. My horse racing class is pretty cool, too. I changed my animal science orientation to a companion animal care class and although we don't do much in there, I still learn some useful stuff. Great schedule. :)

My first animal practicum class was about sheep. We learned how to set sheep, eye score them to find out if they have any bloodsucking stomach parasites and how to trim their feet. Very exciting. Last week, we worked with beef cattle. Herding them and putting them in a chute. We found out how to tell their age by looking at their teeth and got to listen to their lungs and heart. I also got to watch how to take blood from their jugular vein and got to take blood by my myself from their tail. It was great! :D This week we are working with pigs.

I'm tired of typing now and I will tell you more later..

And so it begins..

I moved in on Tuesday and so far it hasn't been too bad. It's weird to be alone. Well, as alone as you can be with about $20,000 other students. But seriously, living without a bf is weird. I miss him. A lot. We talk every day on the phone and skype, but it's just not the same. I'm so ready for him to come next weekend. Really looking forward to it.

I'm mostly moved in. My mom is bringing a fridge, microwave and some other stuff and then I'll be done. Mostly. I still need to figure out how to organize everything best. Takes me a while usually to get comfortable. hahaha

The bed is alright. It'll be a little tight when my bf is coming and I don't know yet what to do about it. Maybe buy a mattress and sleep on the floor? Or I could find a railing to put on the bed. I'm scared one of us will roll off the bed and fall onto by desk and tack box. Ouch! So far I've slept pretty well in it. That's probably because I walk around campus all day in the heat and am exhausted by the time I go to bed.

The campus is really pretty. There's some really unexpected beautiful places. Flower gardens and such. Amazing.

I know where all my classes are now. That's gonna make the first week a lot less stressful. I also visited the vet school today. I was very excited, but didn't actually see much besides the halls. lol They are setting up for the new vet class of 2015 I think. I didn't wanna be in the way.

My room is really cute. At least I think it is. I love it. I have my comfy corner to read and enough room to live. Or so we'll hope for now. My roommate is really nice. I like her.

I've been hanging out with my old friends a lot. I've met new people from both the US and Europe, but it'll take a while for me to really get comfortable around new people. So old friends it is for now. It's really nice actually, because I haven't seen them almost all summer long.

Classes start in two days. So does my new job. Makes me a little nervous to have a job as regular as this one. I've always been babysitting, dogsitting and tutoring. Nothing regular. Now I'll be working for about 5 hours every Monday and Wednesday. I will see how that goes and then try to get another day or two. The pay is not bad and very much needed. It's a job at the dining commons. Which aren't that bad actually. I don't like the Asian food, which I'm very upset about, but I guess I'll have to substitute with other things.

I'm gonna go to a poster sale later. :D I love poster but sadly never have enough room to put them up. I finally got to put up one of my German posters, my Ed Hardy door poster and the Victoria Frances one I've had for years. I love her pictures. They're incredible.

This is the one I own. But there are a lot of others I love, such as..

So close and also so far away..

I'm moving in four days. Can you believe it? I can hardly. It's so close. I'm so close to finally studying what I want. I can finally learn to do the job I have always wanted to do. Become a vet. I'm so excited about it. It's amazing.

But I'm also a little scared. I feel like everyone in my family has these high expectations. That I can do whatever I put in my head. At least academically. I'm the one who always does awesome at school. I'm scared not this time. What if I can't do it? What if I'm not good enough to get into vet school? It all makes me very nervous.

I got to focus. Focus on each semester and maybe I can do that. Maybe telling myself that will help, right? Hahaha.

So far away? Graduation from vet school is at least seven years away. It's gonna take forever! But oh well. One step at a time.

I got a job. I am so happy. It makes it so much easier. So far, it'll only be two days a week, but apparently I will be able to sign up for more eventually. It's a little extra money that I can save (Remember vet school? Yea.. it's pretty expensive) and I get some more work experience. If I don't make enough money here or I just need a different job, that will really help my resume. And maybe vet school app. Hahaha. I have orientation on Wednesday and will start on the 15th. Just like classes. They start that day also.

One of my fish died. I don't know why. One day he didn't move anymore and floated at the top; that's what the picture my bf sent me showed at least. He did look dead. Very dead. But when I came home, he acted better than I've ever seen him act. He looked like he felt amazing. The next day? Dead. The fish that lived, dead once again. And this time he stayed dead. Sad day. The other one seems to be doing better than before though. The big one kept bullying him and now that that one's gone, he seems happier.

Bf and I have been having a lot of fights lately. But somehow, at the same time, it's also been going better with us. At least that's how I feel. He is always scared that I won't be interested in him anymore once I'm in college and meet so many new people. But no. He doesn't need to worry about that. I'm gonna be focusing on school and work. Knowledge and experience. He is starting to get excited about me going to college, too, because he knows how excited I am. He wants me to do what I always dreamt about. And he trusts me to not use him or hurt his feelings if I can help it. I'm really serious with him and I'm trying to show him that. I think it's working.

He's not a big fan of reading, but he wants to do more of it to work on his English. So I bought him two books yesterday. I wanna give them to him on Tuesday when he goes home after we spend the day together in Athens. One has little German phrases in it. That way he can practice both common phrases in English and how to say them in German. He loves to study German and that way he can learn both. The second book is a travel book for Germany. I promised him that one day we would go to Germany together. Maybe he can pick out a few places now that he wants to see. :)

11 Days!

Until I go to college. That's when I move to Athens. Classes start on the 15th. :)

Still need to buy a fridge.

I've been babysitting all week. They're awesome girls, but I'm also happy that today is the last day. I am so tired. Gonna go help my boyfriend at a horse show this week, too. So much stuff this week. But it was awesome, cause we got to go out to lunch at a pizza place, got frozen yoghurt, went to Jump 2 It, Urban Jungle, swimming a few times and and and.. awesome week :)

I'm gonna finally spend next  week packing. Juan is taking me there hopefully. I hope he can help me move in and all, but we're gonna have to see if he has to work. He's built 15 grooming boxes that we sold for $600 and now he's working on 2 medicine boxes that can be hung up on a stall for horse shows for $700. And then we're gonna build a small tack box. It's awesome. :)

I got my animal practicum book yesterday and it's awesome! Love it. I'm so excited for that class to start.

I applied for about 10 jobs yesterday, too. I finished my resume and I'm gonna send it to a few places in Athens that I talked to when I visited with my mom. I'm really hoping I can get a job, so I can save up at least a little bit of money for when vet school starts. It might not help much with tuition and stuff like that, but at least with the applications. Having some savings for that will make it a bit less stressful. :)

Here's a picture of my favourite Shirts for Shelters dog toy.

She's so cute, isn't she? <3

No more braces!

I got my braces off today. Finally. I've had them for about six years now. They were a huge pain, but now I'm done with them. I'm getting retainers in two weeks, but that won't be too bad. I'm getting the invisible ones for during the day, so it won't be as bad. :)

Bf is gone to Auburn again. We're almost done with the grooming boxes. It's taking longer than expected because of so much rain here in Georgia. Then once we get paid, we're starting the next project - a medicine box that can be hung up on a stall. We might get to make two of them. Lots of money. :) We made business cards and I hope those will help get us more work once the horse shows are over and he doesn't have to work so much there anymore. He's gone for 5 days this week and then 4 or 5 days again next week.

19 days until move-in at UGA. I'm so very excited. All I need now is a bike, and then I'm done shopping.

My fish are getting very interested in us. They let us touch them and learned how to get attention when they're hungry. I didn't know they are that smart. They jump a little out of the water when they want to be fed.

Can I leave already?

I'm so anxious to leave. The vet office I asked to shadow at never called back. Cool. Not really. If you don't want me, at least tell me so I'm not waiting forever. I'm getting really bored at home and I wish that I could already move to Athens. At least I could go around there then and explore.

I decided that it probably would be better not to have a car in college; at least for the first semester. I applied for a job and if I get it, I might be working weekends, too. Then it just wouldn't make sense to come home for a few hours. Waste of gas money. And my mom wants to come for events anyways every once in a while. And I know that my boyfriend will come up all the time anyways. Which I love. I think it's good that we won't be together every second anymore. I wouldn't get any studying done that way. But I will enjoy every minute with him when he does come up. :)

He's coming back from Auburn today. It was a long horse show 'weekend' without him. He already had to leave Tuesday morning to set everything up. I'm excited to see him tonight. :)

Isn't that such a sad picture?! I made a fb group for my 'Shirts for Shelters' project and that's what I chose as a picture for it. I hope that a lot of people will donate their clothes to help with this. It'd be awesome. There's another girl already that wants to help with making the toys. :)

Shirts for Shelters

So I'm thinking about starting a project that could help dogs at shelters. Now that I'm off to college, I am reluctant to start volunteering permanently somewhere. I don't want to be overwhelmed by everything in my first semester/year already. So I thought of a way to help from home (or in this case dorm room), because I'd still like to help out and do something good. :)

Shirts for Shelters

I want to collect old shirts and blankets and just pieces of fabric even and make different things out of them. It's easy to make dog toys out of strips of fabric and if I have the patience, I could make blankets, too. We'll see. I like the thought of making toys. I think that many puppies and young dogs would really appreciate them and that it would make their time in the Shelters a little better.

How do I get those shirts? Well, I'm planning on using my own shirts that I really don't wear anymore. I also want to make a facebook group,  so that any friends or people from college and close by can donate their stuff if they want to. I want to collect as much as possible, so I don't only have one or two or even five toys whenever I go to a shelter. No! I want to bring boxes of stuff to them! Many people just have their old stuff lying around, why not find a good use for it?

Please, give some feedback on that idea and tell me what you think. Or if you want to make your own, share them on my facebook page that I will make soon and then post here. Thank you. :)

Sheep LED

Funniest video ever that I found on a vet student's blog today..

Changed Schedule

So, I finished my final schedule. Or at least, I hope this is it. I don't want to have to worry about finding another class to fit my schedule again. My first one was great time-wise, this one is ok. MWF will be much longer..

I dropped Psych 1101 because I sent in my old AP scores. I got credit for Macroecon, so I don't need to take another class for that section. I also dropped Engl 1101 because I got 3 credit hours from my 11th grade AP English class. Another class taken care of. :) I'm gonna take Engl 1102 and be done with English classes for the rest of my life. I will be starting my freshman year with 9 credit hours done already. :) To get a good number of hours again and not waste any time, I added Math 2250 to my schedule. Calculus. Ughhh. I hate math but just like with English, it will be the last math class I need to take. UGA Vet School doesn't require any math classes, but some others do, such as Auburn, so even though I hate, I still decided to take one. Just to be sure.

Boyfriend is gone to Auburn for a horse show. He's getting paid more now. It's wonderful. :) And apparently tons of people are interested in my tack trunk and horse jumps and stuff. We are currently building little grooming boxes (15!), because one of his bosses is wanting them for her horse shows. They are very cute and easy to build. We bought new tools for them, and we will still make enough money from them. I am so excited about all this. My mom told me yesterday that I should start a real business with it. Really?! :D It's all so exciting and I will look more into that..

It's less than a month now until I move in! I am very excited. We're almost done shopping for everything. Well, according to my mom, we're done. But we'll see. ;) It's all so exciting. hahaha I got a purple chair for my dorm room yesterday. It was cheap, but it's sooo comfortable and it gives my a great place to read. We also bought a new desk chair. I have trouble with my back and that one will hopefully help a lot. My side of the room will be decorated in mostly purple with little things in light blue, teal, light green and pink. It's all very cute. And I'm taking my wonderful tack trunk. I love it. Thanks to my wonderful bf! :)

Home alone..

Once again. My mom is off to see a friend who is also moving back to Germany. So many people leaving. Not much sooner and we're gonna be the only Germans here.. jk. There's too many of us living here. That can't happen.

We went to the bank today and I have my own account now. Finally. About time with me going off to college. And it's linked to my mom's, so she can always put some money on there. ;) I got her to give me $60 a week instead of $50, because she always gets money from my grandma for me. That way she doesn't keep it all. hahaha

Good news! Now we have one person who wants one tack trunk, another wants three and then another one wants ten! Isn't that awesome?! I'm so excited! And he also is thinking about having us build a whole ring full of jumps. :D A lot of people are asking for our business cards. Well.. we don't have any. But we're making some! This week when Juan gets back and then he can take 'em to the shows the next few weekends. It was a good idea that he took my tack trunk to the show. That way people don't only know that we make them, but also what they look like. :)

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my little sister! She is 16 now. :)

Van found out that I have fish now today. It was kinda funny. He sat in front of the shelf that they are on and just kept looking up at it. From behind, he looked like a bat with his ears falling back and standing up. He's adorable like that. He also keeps licking his muzzle which usually means he's thinking about food. I'm not sure if he's planning on eating my fish.. lol

We have someone who is interested in buying one of our tack trunks to give away at her horse shows. Awesome! :D There are other people looking at it today, too. If you're in Auburn at horse shows the next few weeks, you should take a look at it. Juan is working there and he took the tack box that he made for me. It's beautiful.

We are also making a price list now for jumps. Because all our tack trunks are custom made, we can't really put one price on it. But most jumps will be the same, so it's easier to put a price. We might have someone who wants us to build a whole ring! I'm so excited! We really need some work right now.. If you have the time, please check out Sayrian Charm. It's our facebook page and you can see some pictures of what we build. And if you're not interested in buying anything right now, it'd be awesome if you could still become a friend. Thanks. :)

My friend just came back from orientation from UGA and we're gonna have The History of Horse Racing together. Awesome! We're both horse crazy and it's gonna be an awesome class. I heard the professor is awesome. :)

Edit: I just heard that three more tack trunks are wanted. I'm so excited! The more we make the more people talk about them and we get more customers. :)

I'm still here

Sorry for not blogging in a while, but I was either too busy, not feeling good or just didn't really feel like it. Lo siento..

There hasn't really much been going on. I was working my butt off at an horse show without getting paid to get experience as jump crew and in-gate person. Maybe I can find someone to work for next summer with that. It was nice though, working with my boyfriend. But damn, Jumpers can be so much work when you're doing jump crew. Especially if someone thinks it's funny to make a different course for each class where you even have to move several jumps. Thanks. :P But oh well. Gave me something to do during this endless summer...

I have a few more lazy weeks left before I'm gonna babysit for five days. I'm excited for that because I love little kids and getting $200 right before I start college sounds good, too. I really hope I can find someone to babysit for in Athens. My favorite family here is sadly moving back to Germany soon. No more babysitting there. They have awesome kids and the parents are supercool to hang out with, too. I'm gonna miss them. :)

My boyfriend actually moved in with my family now. Not what I planned after just 3 1/2 months, but it's going pretty well so far. We have some fights sometimes because I like having a few minutes to myself sometimes, but I think it's good when a couple knows how to fight. Haha. I don't know how it will go once I go to college though. He doesn't want to stay here by himself, so I hope he can get an apartment close to Athens. That'd be wonderful. But I know my mom wouldn't mind him staying at the house. He's so nice and very helpful around the house. :) Now he's off to a horse show until Sunday. That's how it's gonna be for a few weeks now. Gone on Thursday, back on Sunday. But he promised to go to Tai Spice with me on Wednesday. That's my favorite restaurant and it will be our 4 months. :) I know it's not a big deal, but I'm just really happy with him now that we're finally officially dating. :)

Guess what! I got a pet for college. Two to be exact. Hahahaha. Juan and I went to his friend's wedding and they gave us two goldfish to take home. He loved the fish at the the Georgia Shrimp Company and although he says they're useless now that we have two, I still catch him watching them and smiling. And he likes to take care of them, too. :)

My greencard request finally got approved. They should be sending the actual card in the next two weeks. Then I can finally get approved for in-state tuition. My mom just told me that I can't go if I'm counted as Out-of state. Sucky. But it's all good now. :)

My dogs are lazy as always. Chloe looks like such a baby when she rolls up to sleep. It's so adorable. Especially when she's dreaming and quietly barking to herself during it. :) But sometimes, like now, she stretches out all the way and she looks so hugggee. I'm not feeling too great today again and I'm really enjoying the time with her on the couch all day. :)

I'm Back..

Well I've been since Tuesday night, I just somehow couldn't get myself to blog.. sick and bf stuff..

Well I finished my schedule yesterday. I will be taking 6 classes which add up to 15 credit hours. Apparently more than most freshmen do, but I have a lot of things I want to accomplish in the next four years. I'm taking chem 1211+L, which has a huge book. I suck at chem so the next four semester of it will be terrible for me. I'm taking the regular freshman english class just like everybody else, and a psych class. It's gen-ed, the professor apparently sucks, but the other classes sounded worse than this one. I can't take many classes that satisfy my major requirements yet because I don't have the pre-reqs, so I just got started with gen-ed right away. Wasn't in my plan, I wanted to take those as late as possible, but whatever. Sooner or later I'd have to take 'em anyways. Every UGA freshman has to take a one-hour Odyssey class (seminar kinda thing) and because I went to the second orientation session I got my top choice! Go me! It's gonna be about the history of horse racing! I am very excited for that course. I'm also gonna have an animal and dairy science orientation, which is a class that tells me what all I can do with my major (in case I won't make it into vet school), and we get to interview and listen to speakers and other interesting stuff. My last - and already favorite - class is the animal and dairy science practicum. We get to already work with animals. We learn how to handle and restrain farm animals and other cool stuff like that! I'm excited! :D

On Wednesday, my bf made me a wonderful breakfast, bought me two pairs of shoes and then took me out to one of my favorite restaurants: the Georgia Shrimp Co. It was a wonderful day that we finished with cuddling and watching a movie. I loved it. :)

For a big part of the week I felt terrible. I don't drink enough because I just don't get thirsty, so I am dehydrated a lot. The heat and a lot of walking in Athens didn't help either. But I'm working on it. I'm determined to make myself drink more. I already am almost done with one water bottle today! Not much for other people but many days I only drink one of those a day..... So Go Me! :)

I really missed my dogs while I was in Athens. I don't know how I'm gonna live without them. :( But I'm home alone with them this weekend, so that'll be nice! :)

Athens tomorrow! :)

My arms hurt. A lot. I didn't even feel the shots when I got them and I didn't feel any different for a while, but now they've been hurting for about an hour and whenever I try to lift something I realize that it's lower than a few minutes before. It's getting harder and harder to lift them. I hope it won't get too bad. :/

I went to Petsmart today to help out the Humane Society. There were four adorable Lab/Akita puppies and a little puggle. He was so scared because it was his first time at adoption day. A storm was coming up and I was there on the golfcart so I had to leave. I didn't wanna be stuck there for hours maybe because I had some other stuff to do as well today. I talked to one of the ladies in charge and she got pissed. Why am I even there if I know I can't stay the whole time (I didn't know), and that I'm not any use to them at all if I can't stay the whole time." Ehm.. they didn't have enough people working today and she'd rather do it all alone the whole time than have me there to help her a little bit for part of the time? Really? That's stupid. Seriously.

This was my favorite today: Kaleb, a border collie mix puppy. I wanted to take him home so bad! He'd be perfect for Chloe. Both are so playful.

I finished packing and I'm leaving for Athens at 7am tomorrow. I am so excited. I'm spending the day alone with my mom, which rarely ever happens, and we have all day to look around Athens. It's so pretty there butI never really had the time to look at everything I am interested in. I hope I can fix everything with the admissions office and health center on Monday morning, otherwise I can't sign up for classes. :/ I found my status flagged on my student account and I have no idea if that flag is there because of the health center or the admissions office, or if there is another entirely different problem! :/ I'm so stressed out about all of this. It's all so important to me and everything seems to be messed up! :(

Adorable!

Cutest game ever!

Me again

Yea, again. It's just a really lazy day. But that's what summer is for. At least for most people. I actually need to work on getting animal/vet experience. I totally forgot to finish my application for a local animal clinic, so that's what I'll be doing tomorrow after riding my horse (yay, finally again!). And then off to Petsmart to start volunteering for the Humane Society. We don't really do that much there but I love to help. The dogs are just too cute and it's so nice to see them find new homes. Every dog deserves a loving family.

I can't sleep, so once again I'm reading Winnie Loves Us. It's a great site with so much information and little stories to laugh at. :)

Stupid Health Center :(

I went to the doctor this morning to get my tetanus shot and ended up getting a meningococcal (I have no idea if I spelled that right hahaha) vaccine too. I got distracted and didn't even notice that I got my first shot; I didn't feel the nurse putting it in at all. Why do I remember it hurting so much when I was younger?

Well, I got my updated immunization form for the UGA University Health Center. I faxed it and e-mailed them to make sure they really got it. No answer. I called. Nothing. I checked online after a while and noticed that they updated it, but my status was still flagged. I filled out my medical history form and checked back later. Flagged. More e-mails and calls but not one answer, so when they left at 5, I finally stopped trying. If you update my stats, why not my flagged status too? I asked and they told me the tetanus shot was the only thing missing. And you had three hours to answer my first e-mail. WHAT WERE YOU DOING? I know you're busy there too, but if you update my stats already, why not press than one button to change my status too?!?! I can't sign up for classes if they don't change it before Tuesday!

It's just like with the admissions office the day before. I e-mailed a few times over the last few days and finally ended up calling. "Oh yeah, I remember reading your e-mails!" SO WHY DIDN'T YOU ANSWER?! I'm not sending those 'cause I'm bore and just wanna chat. There's a reason for it! Now I have to bring all my immigration papers with me to Athens and HOPE that they're ok. Otherwise, I again can't sign up for classes. Can you please get a little more organized? Maybe prioritize requests so that students that have orientation sooner than others get help on time.

Ughhhhhhh, had to find a vent.. hahaha now I'm done ranting :)

"Watcha doin', Momma?"

"Upset? Wasn't me, riiight?"

"Good. Look how cute I am. That distract you? It's ok if it does. Just admit it."

"SO CUTE."

"Always works!"

Pizza Hut just called and said they're out of my favorite potato wedges. SO SAD. Today just isn't a good day, I guess...

UGA asked me to pick out a freshman seminar today. I picked out five, in case the time for my first choice didn't work with my schedule..

1) ...

Well, I was gonna give you the list, but apparently my computer didn't save it. I only have a blank form. More about that tomorrow I guess..

Somebody is interested in buying a tack trunk from my boyfriend. Finally! He built me one for my birthday and I absolutely ADORE it. So cute! We're trying to get people to order some that he can built to make some extra money on the side. I will post pictures later! :)

And one last cute picture of Chloe to end the day:

I just found this on another blog. Hilarious!

Chilling in Conyers

BF is upset because I'm not watching him work. :/ I AM watching all the time while sitting in the car, working on other stuff. But apparently he wants to see me all the time. I don't wanna be in that heat constantly though and I think he'll finish much quicker if I'm not there to distract him.

I am starting to volunteer at my local Petsmart again on Saturday. Every weekend, there are dog/cat adoption days. I always liked it but now it also helps with getting animal experience for my vet school app. :) Very excited. I'm also applying to an animal clinic that is right next to my neighborhood, and trying to work/volunteer at a dog shelter. Busy summer with all the horse shows in Auburn!

Evil Flies

I had e-mailed the admissions office a few times because I REALLY needed their help to verify my status before Orientation. It seems like they think I just wanna chat because they never answered. Yesterday I decided to call them. After I told them my name they were like "Oh yes, we saw your e-mails. You just need to do this and this and this." (So if you saw them, why did you never answer?!?) At least the people dealing with Orientation stuffs finally answered my mails today. No need for reservations to sleep while I am in Athens. I will be a day early to just kinda look around Athens with my mom, but they just want me to show up at a residence hall and sign in. No need for planning beforehand. I like that :)

I'm getting my tetanus shot tomorrow and then I have to find all my immigration papers to show to admissions on Monday. When I get all that done, I am free to sign up for classes. I now have a list of everything I wanna take and I hope I get it all this semester :) I'd have two hands-on classes then with LA. :D

I put that on my bf's mirror a few weeks ago for his birthday :) I always leave him little notes and all kinds a stuff. He always loves it. :)

Now I'm in Conyers, watching him set up rings for a horse show this weekend. I'd help, but he has the plans and it's way faster if he does it right away than if he'd have to explain everything to me. Works for me. Hahahaha. It's so hot here! But I got used to it a little by now after a few hours. The only thing that still bothers me are the thousands of flies that fly around my head! Damn you, flies! At least they don't sting though like that orange wasp earlier today. I'm a little allergic to those and now my finger is swollen. Ouch :(

Here's my darling :)

Orientation soon..

On Monday and Tuesday, I have freshman orientation at the University of Georgia. I am so excited because it finally feels like I'm getting at least a little closer to college. :)

They want us to fill out a sheet with classes that we want to take. I thought, oh yeah, of course, no big deal. It took me about three hours.. so many classes I wanna take. I just couldn't decide for the longest time. I want to major in Animal Science while I'm doing the Pre-Vet requirements, so I tried to get as many classes as possible that fit the vet school requirements. I decided to look around a little more even though I was already getting a headache from staring at my computer all day (I've had to do other stuff to get ready for orientation..), but I didn't wanna stop and have to keep going again later.. So I found the Dairy Science Minor. Some of my other classes go perfectly with this one too, so I thought why not? Animal Science/Pre-Vet just isn't enough for me (psshhhhh), so I'll add even more work. Of course I can do that!

Silly Me..

(That was when I thought of the title for my blog. I figured I would think that more often in the next years hahahaha)

I had my cute little dogs in my room while I was working on all that stuff. Usually they just sleep when they get to lie on my bed. One of them did. The other one just REALLY wanted to play today. I love her. She is the most adorable dog I know. <3

Van tends to be a little lazier, but he's also older than Chloe. Here is Van, doing what he always does:

Now I get to spend the rest of the night with my boyfriend and tomorrow off to a horse show day. :)

Hey there..

I've been reading awesome blogs of people going through vet school lately, so I thought maybe I could start one too.. so here I am. I haven't seen many pre-vet blogs, so I'm trying to keep one all through undergrad. Wish me luck! ;)

I know the header says "future vet" which sounds awesome to me hahaha but I am only just starting with college this fall so I'm not even really close to it. But just like I said: Hopes and Dreams. :)
