Thank God it's Sunday..

... and the week is almost over. This week has been terrible and I can't wait for next week to start and hopefully be better. I won't go into details about everything though.

Ivy is doing good. She's been a bit intimidated, which I think might come from all the different camps she is doing because I have to work so much. But from now on I only work half days during the week, so she doesn't need to go to anyone else. I can take care of her myself. I'm so tired of working. I've developed breathing problems and it's making it so hard. I'm happy for school to start soon because then I'll have less physical work and way more time to spend with Ivy. I need more Ivy time.

I'm getting her back from her regular camper tomorrow morning and tomorrow night we will be joined by her GSD friend Rompers. We'll see how that goes. On Tuesday, another dog will come back to stay for a night. Three dogs in the house at once! We'll see if I have some stories on Wednesday.. haha

Ivy isn ow officially registered on campus with the disability resource center. She got her UGA tag and is allowed to come to class and everywhere else. We also met a guy in a wheelchair that was really nice and took the time to let Ivy get used to it. She barked once out of surprise but was then just loving on him, not caring about the wheelchair at all.

What a trooper puppy, the little monster. <3

On a sadder note.. the bf left for Mexico on Monday. It was horrible. I'm still pretty upset. He finally got a phone though so we'll be able to talk regularly at list. Hopefully he's gonna get internet soon, too, so I'll be able to see him on Skype.

I really miss him. :(

Anxious

I'm not feeling too good in the last few days. I don't know if there is really anything wrong with me or if I'm just so anxious about my bf leaving for Mexico. I know I'm gonna be really upset and I'm hoping that distracting me with studying and work/house work will help. Hopefully I can put all my energy into that instead of being upset.

He was supposed to leave tomorrow, so I wanted to go on a date with him tonight. He might not be here on time though. :( He is now planning to leave Monday, so tomorrow I hope he's going with me to see Quinn with the rest of the guide dog people and then have a date Sunday night. I hope.

Ivy is doing great. Everyone loves her. I made an Instagram for her and we're getting a few followers. Hopefully more soon. (laprincesita323)

This is an older picture. Not sure if I have shared this one already. But it doesn't matter. Her cuteness can never be shared enough. ;)

Lala Land

Ivy is doing great mostly. Her commands are getting better, she doesn't bite on stuff in the house anymore and the barking in the crate is slowly going away.

Other things are not going so well though. The bf is leaving for Mexico in the next week. It could be this weekend or it could be next week. It makes me so upset because I have no idea when or if I will see him again. Or course, I want to try to go to Mexico. But, you know, money. And I have no idea whether or not he will get a visa to come back here and I don't want him to come here otherwise. Way too dangerous. Visa or nothing. But that's hard to say. It makes me wanna cry when I think about him leaving. I am not looking forward to that day. And not knowing which one exactly it is isn't really helping either. Sad times right now.

Here's one of him with Ivy. I am so happy that I got this picture. The two most important things in my life right now.

Monster Update

Ivy is doing great! I went to two puppy meetings with her and she was wonderful. She demonstrated her commands well and some of her actions were even better than the ones from older puppies. I am very happy with her.

She is doing 'sit' very well and most of the time by now and we are getting the hang of down. For sit, she only needs to hear the command, but for down I still need to show her with a hand motion close to the ground. But instead of having my hand almost on the ground, I can by now have it about a foot above it and she still understands. Smart puppy. We're working on it. :)

I started teaching her the command 'door.' She hasn't figured it out yet, but I am doing it every day by saying the command as soon as she touched a door with her nose. I don't doubt that she'll catch up soon. We're also working on 'left' and 'right.'

I found somebody who is taking her every weekend when I'm at work. It looks like they like each other. :) I have to say it's nice to have a break from the puppy, but then again, I don't like not having her next to me when I read after work or laying at my feet when I do the dishes or laundry. It is definitely weird without her. I got used to having her around so quickly!

And even though the bf doesn't really want to admit to it, I'm pretty sure he likes her, too! ;)

Her monster collar is here! Hopefully I can put up a picture of her wearing it soon! I love it! :)

Here's another one for now. One of my favorites of her.

Giving Hope

I don't really enjoy talking to random people. It makes me uncomfortable. Unless it is about a topic that I love, such as anything related to animals. I don't mind when people ask my about Ivy and how it is to raise a guide dog. I love talking about my experience riding and caring for horses. And I love learning and teaching about veterinary medicine (the teeny bits I know at least).

And surprisingly, I am looking forward to client interaction later on once I'm a vet student/veterinarian. I want to help their animals, but I also want to help the owners. I want to teach the owners. I want to make them feel better when they are upset about the path their animals are taking, whether it's good or bad.

At work, I was talking to a couple about their horse that was hospitalized. He was getting ortho surgery done and they were very nervous about it. They chose to have the vet take their horse's eye out because he has been having trouble with it for a while. They (him more than her) had trouble with the thought of the horse only having one eye and wondered if it bothered him very much.

What many people seemed to overlook is the fact that most of the time it seems to bother humans much more when an animal loses a leg, an ear or an eye (or something similar). Animals always look like they just deal with it. It's a fact that they can't change and they learn to live with it. It takes humans much longer to get over it.

I told them about something I was told a few weeks prior by my bf who heard it from a horse show judge. She said that the rider that she enjoyed judging the most was a girl. A girl that was completely blind, riding a horse with only one eye. She used a headset with which her trainer told her where to go and when to jump. Yes, JUMP. This girl couldn't see at all and didn't let that stop her from this already dangerous hobby. She didn't let it stop her from having fun and enjoying life. And right there with her was this horse with one eye that didn't even hesitate at all to follow along.

The couple that had their horse in the hospital just stared at me for a minute, like they couldn't believe it. And then the lady smiled. She sat back and sighed. And she agreed that she probably took it way more to heart than she should, that she should just go with it right now and see how the horse felt and think more about its wellbeing than her own worries about having a horse with one eye. She thanked me and said that I made her feel much better with that story.

And that's what I love. I love helping them and hope I can do it many more times in the future. It was only a short little story, but it made that couple feel so much better about the procedure their horse had to go through.

Btw, the surgery went fine. I cleaned the horse's stall the next morning and having only one eye didn't seem to bother him at all. He just went with it. (:

Monster

I ordered a new collar for my little monster yesterday. It should be here in the next week or two. I'm super excited about it. It's customized with colors and will have her name on it! :)

Ivy herself? Being a monster at home like usual. Trying to get into everything she can find and not leaving the resident dog alone. hahaha But I'm pretty sure "big dog" doesn't mind. I think they like playing together. I've been staying with friends for a few days and it's great. I enjoy it here much more than staying with my brother. ;)

But move in into the new house is today. I am still staying here with friends until tomorrow, but then I'll be all over there. It's only across the street, which is very nice. Friends close by. I'm excited to finally get into it, too. Last time we're moving places with Ivy. She needs to have a home that stays her home. :)

The command 'sit' is getting better and better. When we are out for walks, she's usually too distracted to pay attention to my talking, but we are making progress. She's listening much better now.

We also started with 'down.' It's not as good yet, but she's a smart puppy and figuring it all out.

I love working with her. She picks things up quickly and while she is a bit stubborn, we can still work it out. I am learning so much myself from it, too. I'm getting more patient and more creative. A puppy can be very frustrating, but we're managing it well together!

She is wonderful when we go on outings though! Couldn't ask for a better puppy! I took her to the vet with my friend and she was very quiet. While she didn't like the vaccine shots, she didn't protest really either. After that, we went out to the Chinese restaurant where I always go with the bf. She just laid down and took a nap. Same everywhere else. I went shopping to Kroger and Walmart and it wasn't a problem at all. :)

Here's the little monster as we are waiting for the bus. Looks a bit like a teddy bear, doesn't she?

Day 5.

Just to keep up with the sleeping schedule reports: Ivy was quiet until 8:30 this morning and only woke up because I had to get up. I think we can call this a complete success. No worrying about her needing to go outside during the night. We got this covered!

Our busying routine is getting better, too. Slowly, but surely. We're not supposed to let them go while we are walking. Walking is for walking, not busying. They learn to go in a designated spot when they are told to do so. I must say that we are getting closer to this goal!

The "sit" command is almost perfect inside. She also does it when we visit other places sometimes, such as McD. Our only problem is doing it outside. There are just many other things to pay attention to, mommy! She is getting pretty good with "leave it" and "quiet" though when we are outside!

I walked up to the bus stop with her. Originally, I planned to actually ride the bus with her because we have to do it on Friday to get to the vet. I decided against it though. So we just sat there, watching the traffic. Some puppies are scared by cars, trucks, etc. driving by. Not my Ivy! She doesn't really care much. She's such a champ!

Successes.

Ivy is sleeping through the whole night! She woke up at 7:30 this morning, which is great.

Last night, we went to McD. I thought she'd be curious and would look around a lot or maybe even be scared a bit, but nope. She looked around once and then laid down at my feet while I was waiting in line and ordering. I sat down outside and the same thing happened. She wasn't fazed by anything.

We're working on the command "sit" right now and she is getting better and better. Hopefully soon she can do it every time and when other people tell her also.

She seems to like her crate. They are supposed to be their safe haven for when they are scared or want to be alone. She goes there several times a day to take naps. She barely ever cries anymore when I close it, too. Maybe at first, but then she quiets down pretty quickly and goes to sleep. Good pup! :)

She's starting to play more with her nylabone, too. She likes to put everything in her mouth, but I always distract her with the bone or kong filled with pb and it's working wonders. She's a lot better now. The didn't really look at her bone so far, but today it must be the coolest toy ever!

I'm having a lot of fun with her. We're going to get food again later. Maybe McD or something similar in hopes of it being quiet there again with not too many people. I want everything to be positive and that she doesn't get scared. :)

Ivy

She's here! I picked up my guide dog puppy on Saturday and she is gorgeous! Her name is Ivy, which I think is so cute. Here she is:

Adorable, right? :)

I went on a couple of walks with her the first day. From the first time on, I made sure to make her walk on the left side. After only three days, she's almost a pro! She's pretty smart. ;)

She also doesn't care at all about busying on concrete, which is something all of our puppies have to learn. Most of them will go to NY and not all of them will have access to grass, so we want to get them used to busying on concrete all their life.

She also pretty much sleeps through the night already. She woke up the first night when my brother came home and this morning at 6:30 because my bf got up. But besides that, she sleeps the whole time! I am very happy about that!

I love her. She's cute. And fun. :)

We had a first outing today. We went to a gas station close by. She had her coat on and was so good in the store! I bought her some peanut butter for the Kong she got today. Everyone liked her, especially the police man.

She's being good and I want to take her out tomorrow again. :)

Blog Name Change

I changed the name of my blog. I no longer feel like a silly girl with unreachable dreams. I now feel like a person who has a goal and does everything she can to reach it.

Life should be full of learning. Learn something new every day! Don't finish school and think you are done with learning. Finish school, go on to your career and never stop improving!

What I love about becoming a vet is that there are always new things you can learn. You might be an expert in your area, but there are so many more areas that you can study. And it's a science that never stops improving! There will always be new things to learn about!

I am excited to be getting a guide dog puppy this week. I have had dogs all my life, but it will be a completely different experience to finally have one where I am the primary caretaker. The only caretaker actually. And with the help of other volunteers, my area coordinators and the puppy itself, I will be able to learn so much more about dog training and myself. It will be hard, but I am definitely ready!

PUPPY

ONE MORE WEEK.

I'm going to my brother's house tomorrow to stay with him for the two weeks before I move into my house. Hopefully I can start working on Monday!

La di da..

Not much has happened. Life seems to stand still. Not much to do while I'm at home.

I've been reading a lot though, so that's nice. I miss reading during the year, so it's nice to catch up on some books. I get a lot of emails about different horse and veterinary topics and I really enjoy reading up on all kinds of different things.

This is the latest article I read: Equine Practitioners: Beat feed stores at their own game. It's about tips on developing a better relationship with your clients and how to financially help both sides. I thought there were some good tips and wanted a place to safe the article, so here it is. Maybe I'll need it some day.

I might start work next Monday already. My boss wants me to start as soon as possible, but he won't answer his phone now. I'd like to start early, because then I wouldn't be so bored, I'd make money already and it's work better with the puppy's arrival. (:

Monday, June 4, 2012

I'm bored. I really need to clean and pack up my room. After all I'm moving into the new house in three weeks. And leaving this one in two, so I actually have to be done in two weeks! My room is a mess. I've started a tiny bit, but just have no motivation. At all. I packed a box of my clothes and one of my books. That's it. Ugh.

Here's another cute GS picture. Random one. Can't wait to get mine! <3

Nothin' much

Not much has happened in the last few days. Just being lazy like you should be over your break.

I hung out with my friend's guide dog puppy yesterday. A collie puppy. Very cute.

I hung out with my best friend yesterday. We had some weird stories. Hahaha. Going to see Snow White and the Huntsman tonight with her and some other friends. :)

AND.

I'M GETTING A GERMAN SHEPHERD PUPPY IN A FEW WEEKS. I'm super excited. I don't have pictures yet, but should be about as cute as this one!

I haven't even met the puppy yet and I'm already in love! :)

I'll update about it when I get my info email! :)

New Job!

I was hired by the veterinary teaching hospital to be an animal caretaker! I'm really excited to be working there! There won't be much working with the actual animals, but that doesn't matter. I don't mind cleaning stalls if I am at least around animals while I work. :)

I have to learn how to drive the fork lift though. Ugh. Not looking forward to it. My training starts in about 18 days and then I will have to work every weekend and holiday! FUN! Hahaha. But seriously. I'm really excited!

The cool thing is that while I will mostly be working in the large animal hospital, occasionally I might be in the small animal hospital, too.

Back in the States.

Sadly, Thursday was my last day with my German vet. It was great though. As soon as I came in, I got to watch a tumor removal! Way cool! Besides that, there wasn't anything big, just appointments like usually. But it was a nice last day and he told me that I could come back if I wanted to! Definitely might in the future!

Friday, my last day, I went shopping with my dad. I got some really cute dresses and other stuff. Thank you, dad! Loved the day with him!

Yesterday was a long day. Got up at 5:15 to say bye to people and leave for the airport. Had breakfast there with my dad and then had to say bye. It's always so sad. Leaving isn't really too bad for me. I like going back to the States. But it's hard to see my dad so upset when I go. :(

The flight was ok. Meh. I used to like flying, but if it's always for 9 or 10 hours, it just gets annoying. I watched Footloose and Columbiana. Loved them both. I want to watch the second one with my bf. I think he'd like it.

I haven't seen him yet, sadly. He's gone to work at a horse show. He's coming back tonight though. I'd hate to not see him on my birthday! Which yea, today is my birthday. Nothing big planned, unless you think sleeping and reading is a big deal - which I think it is! Hahaha. I'm excited to get a break and just relax before we start moving into the new house. Which should be in about 25 days! Woohoo!

I'm hoping he comes back in time to go to dinner tonight. I'd really like to go out with him for my birthday. :)

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

I'm done early today at the vet office. They take appointments and walk-ins earlier on Wednesdays. I watched today how a cat got part of its tongue cut out and dental calculus removed. It was really cool!

Besides that, it was normal stuff like vaccinations, blood draws and x-rays. I'm sad that tomorrow is already my last day there. I really enjoyed my time there and hope I can come back next time I'm coming to Germany!

But I'm also excited to see my boyfriend again when I go back to the US this weekend. Instead of giving each other birthday presents, we are going to the beach for two days! :)

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Fun!

I got to watch a dog spay yesterday! First time ever. I also had to watch a dog getting anesthetized to make sure he wouldn't roll down the surgery table. He then got a tooth pulled, which was cool to see, too! The vet explained to me how to see puppies on ultra sound and I got to pet some puppies that were getting sick. They were very adorable.

I wish I could spend more time there. While I don't get to do much, I really enjoy the environment. It's very homey and I learn some great things!

It's an experience with many other first experiences within (like seeing a dog get euthanized for the first time).

I'm really hoping to get a job at the vet clinic that is right outside the neighborhood of my new house. I'm gonna dress nicely as soon as we get settled a little bit, and go in to talk to the vet. And even if I can't get a job, maybe I can shadow or volunteer - although I really want a job with a vet. I dislike my current job a lot and it would make getting vet experience so much easier and more fun.

Thank you.

I must say that the dean of my department (animal science dep) is awesome! The day I was supposed to take my intro to animal science final, someone who I really cared about a lot died. I was extremely upset and when he saw me, he just sent me home and told me to take the final the Monday after.

I spent the weekend with my bf (who was even more upset) and studied. It was an awful weekend. And the test on Monday was extremely difficult. But I must have done very well. I thought it nearly impossible to get a B in the class. If I would've taken it that Friday, I might have even failed. It was just so much information that didn't want to stay in my head at that time, pushed aside by other stuff. But I ended up getting a B in the class as my final grade. I am extremely happy and thankful to this professor!

Also, I got a B in Physics. Never thought this possible.

Hello!

I didn't go to the vet clinic on Thursday because it was a holiday. I had lunch with my grandpa at a father's day fest, went horseback riding and hung out a bit with my grandparents (mom's parents). The riding was awesome. Instead of going in a circle like I usually do on that trail, I kept going down new paths. It was really pretty and I even got to see a deer. :)

Friday, I went back to the vet. The usual vet's substitute was there again. I went in in the late afternoon, expecting to only stay for an hour or two. But I got to help sort medications, clean up, get the mail ready, greet and call clients, etc. Easy assistant work. Nothing big. But I'm only supposed to observe anyways, so helping with the little things was fun already. I didn't feel so useless like when I just stand off to the side. Later, we drove out to a barn to look at a horse and on the way back, we just talked about vet schools in Germany and the US and out pets.

We were planning on going shopping and the Regensburger Dult, a carnival type event, but were just too lazy. We went shopping for like two hours somewhere else and then to a beer garden at night. Nothing too exciting.

Yesterday, we went to a German Shepherd breeder show. It was interesting to see who always won, because I really learned what to look for and what a GSD is supposed to look like. The vet I shadow was there, too, with some of his dogs. Later, I hung out with my mom's parents again. My grandma made my favorite cheese cake again.

I'm going to the vet later today and then eat dinner with them again today. And tomorrow night, we're going to my stepsister's restaurant again. :)

Back again..

I know. I keep saying I will post more, but it never happens. But the last weeks were just so stressful. Haha. I'm happy to be on break and once I'm back in the US, I will try to post more. If interesting things happen, that is.. Let's hope so!

I got to Germany last Thursday. School got out Tuesday and I boarded my plane Wednesday afternoon. I still haven't gotten over the jet lag. I don't know why it's taking me so long. It's been almost a week now. Maybe because I always have something to do here, too, and never really rest like I need to. But it's been fun here so far! I got to see a good friend, go horseback riding whenever I want (I absolutely love that horse. He's wonderful out on the trails. It's beautiful here and I really missed the fields and woods!), get to read..

I started a practicum with our veterinarian here on Monday. He works with both small and large animal, which is exactly what I want to do - only that I want to do mainly large and a little bit of small on the side. I don't really get to do much but watch, but I don't really mind. On Monday, I really just watched. There were a lot of animals coming in, much different than the vet school patients, where most of them stay there and don't leave right after the examination. There were dogs, cats, rabbits, canaries, doves... I also got to see my first dog euthanasia. I didn't get very upset like some other people have said, but it's definitely a bit unsettling. I don't think the dog was feeling very well anymore, so it might have been a good thing. He's in a better place now if such exists. Yesterday, I helped with cleaning a bit, and greeting and calling in clients. It's really not much, but I want to show that I am motivated and willing to help when needed. Today we only has a few appointments. The regular vet wasn't here and there was someone else covering for him. When we were done at the office, we went to a barn to look at a sick foal. I helped with the treatment a little bit and then we sat there, trying to keep it warm. I hope it gets better soon! It looked better than before apparently though, so that's good. Tomorrow is a holiday, and then I'm back in on Friday. I want to ask if they can show me how to properly restrain the different kinds of animals. I doubt they'll let me do it, but an explanation would still be awesome. It's the first time I'm working with small animals with a vet.

My advisor said I might be able to get one or two hours of credit for the practicum. That'd be awesome. I definitely need some good grades. Haha :P He also said if I help him with some research in the fall, we'd combine those hours with the ones where I helped him last semester and I'd get credit for that, too. I'm so happy I changed advisors from my old one to him. He's the one I had for summer orientation. I wouldn't say my old one was bad, but he wasn't very helpful either. But this one? He's awesome! He alway tries to help everyone succeed and tries to find great opportunities, like this one. I really want to do research, so that'd be a great start!

We found a house and had inspections for it the day before I left the US. I should be moving in around June 20th. I'm super excited to be living together with my wonderful boyfriend again! How I miss seeing him all the time. I know he'll still be gone for work a lot, but at least I get to see him at night or even just sleep next to him. Much better than not seeing him for weeks at a time. :)

I so so so love that I get to ride however much I want when I'm in Germany. It's my friend's horse that I broke in before I moved to the US. He's gotten to be a wonderful trail horse. I don't have to worry at all about going out by myself. I think he loves to get out, too. He doesn't get ridden too much anymore and while he loves to eat out on the pasture (and during trail rides which caused us to almost fall down a hill...), I think he really enjoys the rides. We have really relaxed rides, but always gallop a little bit. He puts his ears forward and just takes of at high speed. He really looks like he loves it and I do, too! I really miss riding and this is the only way to really be able to relax. Especially when it's along beautiful fields and through the pretty woods here..

Well, I'm tired. More later (yea, right.. haha). I still want to read a bit and then I'm going to sleep. It's midnight here. I borrowed a book about BSE and one about Mastitis from the vet and I want to be done by Friday. I know I won't get through the whole books, but at least read a big part of them.

Saturday, April 7, 2012

Hello there..

I really need to get better at posting here. What happened? hahaha

Yesterday was Open House at the vet school here. So many things to see! I had a guide dog in training with me, which was awesome! She's my favorite and I loved spending the whole day with her. She was probably petted by at least 50 children and she loved the attention. And I enjoyed talking to people about The Guide Dog Foundation. :)

We got to see a zebra, a camel, falcons and lots of other animals. I took a tour of the teaching hospital and watched a herding demo. I also bought a shirt for my bf. I hope he likes it. I'll see him later today, so we'll see.

I've been shadowing at the large animal teaching hospital and it's been great! I am with the third vet now, but sadly her rotation ends tomorrow. I learned a lot of things with her, but I am also excited to be back with my first vet here. She is awesome, too. She wrote me a recommendation letter for the vet school guarantee program and I am very thankful for that! I should hear soon if I will have an interview for this program. I really hope so, because I think it is a wonderful program!

I've been doing some research on the internet about different topics related to food animals and right now I am focusing on holistic medicine. I like the idea of alternative medicine used on food animals instead of using certain types of medicine that can leave residue in the meat, milk, etc.

I am very excited about getting new books also. I now have the Veterinary Clinical Advisor: The Horse and I also bought Saunder's Veterinary Anatomy Coloring Book. I learn very well by drawing the different structures and am hoping that this book will help. There are more than 300 drawings about horses, cows, chickens, dogs and cats. I love it. I absolutely love making my collection of books bigger!

It looks like I will be officer for the Dairy Science Club next semester. I am trying to come up with different activities to do for the club and hope the members will like them. I am also wanting to talk to the new class over the summer when they have their orientation sessions. I was thinking about bringing in a vet to talk to us about medical care regarding dairy cows, a farm manager, doing a hands-on lab with calves, etc. I hope these things will all work out!

I'm also hoping to become an officer for the Horsemen's Association. Elections are soon and I would love to be on the officer team for the upcoming year!

I am getting my first guide dog puppy this summer! Hopefully it'll be a Poodle or German Shepherd, but any puppy will be welcomed with lots of love!

I'm taking summer classes, am looking for a vet/animal related job and am hoping to do research at the vet school. This will be a busy summer!

We are currently looking at houses to buy. Hopefully I will be here for at least seven more years and it's be a waste of money to rent this entire time. We found a house today that is wonderful. The location isn't the best (it's a bit far from campus), but it's not too bad. Also, the vet school is moving to a different place, which will be much closer to that house then. If we can bring the price down a bit, we are taking it! It's beautiful and has a backyard for my boyfriend's work and the new dog. I really want to get it soon, so I can have it ready when I get back from Germany this summer and start summer classes.

I am going to Germany this summer to visit family and work with a veterinarian over there. I am very excited to do so and hope to learn many new things with him!

I think this is enough updating for now and I will try to post more in the near future. It's been exciting in the last few weeks and there are more great things to come!

This is the beautiful girl I had with me for the open house! I've had her for a whole weekend before and fell in love with her.

Reproduction

I'm learning about the reproductive system in farm animals right now. All about the sex organs, the hormones, etc. I've been drawing the reproductive system of the male pig, because it's much easier to remember what the different parts do when I know where in the body they are. The cow is next.

I really like this stuff, but I just can't focus right now. I'm taking a class just about repro next semester, so it'd be really helpful to already know some stuff about it, but today is just awful. Hopefully tomorrow will be better..

Vet School Guarantee Program

I applied to a guarantee program for the UGA Vet School and will hopefully find out on Monday (2 days!!) if I get an interview for it. If I get accepted in June, I would already know that I will be going to vet school in three years!

I'm getting a bit nervous..

If you are in high school and going to attend UGA and want to be a vet, make sure you apply to this program in your freshman year! If you are interested in food animal medicine, that is..

I get to play with foals and yearlings soon today and then will be having a guide dog puppy for the rest of the day. I'm scheduled to finally get my own in June!

I'm back!

I'm sorry I have been so terribly quiet! But I have been so busy and if I did have time, I tried spending it with my boyfriend or a book. I will try to come on later tonight and talk a little bit about what I have been doing. I also want to post a few times this week to talk about certain things in the last few months.
